A68 protein
A68 protein is a protein that is found in the brain of all patients with Alzheimer's disease (as recognised by the monoclonal antibody Alz-50). It is also found in all foetuses from 32 weeks gestation and also in infants, before it begins to disappear around 2 years of age. It is a major subunit of derivatised forms of tau protein but is more phosphorylated. ()
